Summer Bucket List

Wednesday, June 15, 2016
I have this summer jam packed with activities to partake in when I am not working. Although I am trying to work as much as possible, I want to do a ton of things before leaving for college.
I always try to have a list of things that I want to try out, because I am the type of person that leaves things for the last minute. Normally, if there is not a list, I lose sight of what I want to try and stay home watching TV. Hopefully this summer there will be no more of that!
Dress: Vineyard Vines (just sold out, similar here) // Necklace: Kiel James Patrick //
Earrings: Kate Spade

ONE // Go midnight swimming at the beach
This was always something that I wanted to do, except my parents never really fancied the idea, and my friends and I did not all know how to drive until this year. Now that we can drive ourselves, I am dying to try it out. I am not much of a beach person, but I do love swimming in the ocean and I believe it would be really cool if my friends and I can sneak in and try it at midnight!

TWO // Cliff dive
I did this once in Mexico last spring break, and it was not so pretty. I kind of hurt myself because of the way I landed, and was too afraid to try it again. I want to get over that fear and do it again - without hurting myself this time.

THREE // Go strawberry picking
I might be a little to late for this right now, considering this is more of a spring thing, but I always want to go strawberry picking but I forget to for another year. Instead of staying at home and watching Netflix, this would be something fun (and yummy!) to do on a day off.

FOUR // Go camping
After hiking at Yosemite (post here), I have been itching to go on a camping trip. I feel like every since I went hiking, I had this awakening that showed me that I enjoy being outdoors. If you told me this four years ago, I would laugh - but now I can't get enough of it. Cheesy, I know, but I definitely want to give camping a try (and hopefully I will like it!).

FIVE // Go sailing
It is not like I have never gone sailing before, I spent a whole summer learning how to do it in a camp. However, I want to make sure that I do it at least once this summer. I kind of brushed it off last summer until it was too late, so hopefully this year I can change that.

SIX // Have a picnic
I have not had a picnic in as long as I can remember. I used to have a lot when I was younger, but I outgrew them as I got older. I think with a fun group of friends, amazing food, and bubbly drinks, a picnic sounds like a blast. I want to try having a picnic on the beach, at Central Park, the dock and so many other places.

SEVEN // Get even closer with the friends that I will be leaving behind
This is more of a general goal. I have a lot of friends that are one or two years younger than me, and will be staying in the city while I am away at college. I am hoping to not only make the best of my summer before college, but also get even closer with my already close friends. One thing I fear the most is becoming distant with some people that I consider my best friends, and I am going to try my hardest to stop that from happening this summer (and throughout the school year).

EIGHT // Host a slumber party
I have not had a ton of friends over for a sleepover since I was little, and I feel like it is something that needs to be done ASAP! I do not understand why we feel the need to outgrow it, from all I remember, they were an all around great time. I am so hoping to have all my friends together once more before the big sendoff, kind of like a last hurrah!

NINE // Get out to Montauk
I have only been to Montauk a handful of times, and that was all when I was younger. I typically stop at the Hamptons, and stay there, not continuing the journey out to Montauk. I want to get out there this summer, and spend a few days, especially considering I know the Hamptons a little too well now.

TEN // Try a spinning class
The thought of spinning always intrigued me. A lot of people, that I know of, who try classes in Soul Cycle, or any variation of it, love spinning and can't get enough. I ride bikes just about anywhere I can during the summer - for as long as I can remember, and I think that it would be interesting to give my hand at one of these classes.

I am really trying to make the most out of my summer before I leave in August for school. Considering this summer will be my send off from high school, and my new beginning in college, I am trying to make the best of it!
Do you have any more ideas on what I am missing out? Let me know! :)

  1. I really want to get out to Montauk this summer too! I've only been once and had the best fish and chips out there!
