Summer Excursions

Like I said on my bucket list (here), I want to get out and do as much as I can in the summer when I am not working. I have actually been keeping that up. So far, I have made it to Piermont, Bear Mountain and Greenwich - and it is only the first week of my summer vacation!

There is a lot more that I am planning on doing, like the East Hampton this Wednesday, Montauk, Newport and so many more.
Last summer, it was really hard for me to find the motivation or time to leave and do something - but I have been trying my best to adjust this year.
Therefore, I think I would share some tips that I really could have used!

ONE // Wake up early
I always found last year if I slept in, I normally wake up and brush off leaving because I am too lazy and feel like it is too late. This was always the worst, so my biggest tip is to wake up early and get on the road!
TWO // Pack the night before
When you are waking up early, you are not going to be in the mood to pull together a bag. It is also 50 times more likely that you are going to forget something, so just get it done the night before and relieve yourself of the struggle in the morning.
THREE // Allow it to be spontaneous
If you are planning out all of these things, it will get stressful. That stress is going to make it less appealing, so allow for it to be spontaneous. Although I would not recommend doing this for a trip that is further away, or requires a little planning, but a little spontaneous-ness in your summer will never hurt!
