How to Spend a Day in New York City

Monday, August 8, 2016
Having gone to high school in the city for the past four years, I have gotten to know the city pretty well. There is so much to do in just Manhattan, therefore I thought that I would cover Manhattan today!

With a city that has so many options, it is hard to decide what you do and do not want to spend your time doing. Nowadays a lot of my time is spent shopping because there is only so much sight seeing a New Yorker themselves can do until it is boring. The sight seeing stuff (aka, Times Square...) is never as nice or interesting as they seem, they are just crowded with a lot of other tourists! New Yorkers tend to avoid these stereotypical 'tourist' spots to the best of our ability, therefore I am going to avoid those places in this post!

1. Sarabeth's: Located on the Upper East Side and right outside Central Park
2. Isabella's: By the Museum of Natural History
3. Eli Zabar: There are a few locations spread over the East Side

1. Mason Kaiser: Located all over! The Upper East Side, Upper West Side, West Village, Midtown, etc.
2. A picnic at Central Park
3. Alice's Tea Cup: Upper East Side

1. Balthazar: SoHo
2. The Boathouse: Central Park
3. The Water Club: Right off the FDR

Things to do while you are not eating:
1. Tan in Central Park
2. Shop in SoHo
3. Get a knock off bag from China Town
4. Visit the Museums - the MoMA, Museum of Natural History, and the Met are my favorites
5. Go for a boat ride in Central Park
6. Rent a Citi Bike and bike around Central Park and around the city!
7. Walk around South Street Seaport, and then walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
8. Kayak from Pier 96
9. Go golf at the Golf Club in Chelsea Piers
10. Walk along the High Line
